Canon has been fairly aggressive within the growth of RF mount lenses and has launched some excessive designs. RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM and RF 85mm f/1.2L USM. They appear to have no intention of slowing down, as one other design that pushes the boundaries has emerged in a current patent.
The patent consists of a number of f/1.8 lenses, probably the most spectacular of which is the 150mm f/1.8 design. Such a lens can be an especially large aperture for such a focal size and would start to take over the form of designs we see in 200mm f/2 lenses. At present, the patron lens with the longest focal size within the Canon vary and an aperture wider than f/2 RF 135mm f/1.8 L IS USMis usually described as superior. So, regardless of the spectacular design, I doubt they plan to convey such an identical lens to market. That stated, I think we’ll see a 200mm f/2 lens (or perhaps 200mm f/1.8 if the corporate desires bragging rights) sooner or later. Such lenses are well-liked for indoor sports activities, close-up wildlife and excessive portraiture. Whereas we in all probability will not see a 150mm f/1.8, it is good to see the corporate proceed to push the boundaries of design.
