LAKELAND — Final week, the Lakeland Police Division distributed body-worn cameras to greater than 100 uniformed patrol officers.

“Everybody will get Christmas presents,” stated Assistant Chief Hans Lehman.

Lehman stated the choice was made to start putting cameras within the division’s most public-facing positions (uniformed patrol officers on the streets) and to deploy them progressively because of ongoing provide chain and know-how points.

“We have been working actually arduous to get the cameras to everybody by the top of the 12 months, because the fee needed,” he stated. “No less than we’ve got all of our uniform parts completed by the top of the 12 months.”
