The Ghanaian subsidy of South African cellular operator MTN Group has acquired a historic tax invoice of roughly $773 million (R13 billion R13 billion), together with penalties and curiosity expenses, the father or mother firm mentioned on Friday.
After auditing MTN Ghana for the years 2014-2018, the Ghana Income Authority issued the bill and concluded that the corporate had declared roughly 30% of its income for the interval.
The airline, which operates in 19 international locations in Africa and the Center East, mentioned it disputed the “accuracy and foundation” of the evaluation and would combat it.
“MTN Ghana believes that taxes due have been paid in the course of the evaluation interval and have determined to defend MTN Ghana’s stance on the Evaluation,” the corporate mentioned.
