The Vatican introduced that Pope Emeritus XVI. He confirmed that Benedict died on Saturday, December 31. He was 95 years outdated.
In accordance with Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni, the previous pope’s well being had deteriorated over the previous few weeks.
Benedict XVI turned pope in 2005 and resigned in 2013, citing his “superior age”. He was the primary pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415.
