The general public procurement monitoring company rejected a petition difficult the award of Burhani Engineers Restricted by the Kenya Airports Authority for a Sh 152 million tender to produce and substitute airport floor lighting cables and equipment at Eldoret Worldwide Airport.

In a call of the Board, “The request for inspection made by the applicant on October 26, 2022 for the availability and substitute of airport floor lighting cables and equipment at Eldoret Worldwide Airport was rejected.”

The feud resulted from the Kenya Airports Authority’s invitation to bids to produce and substitute airport floor lighting cables and equipment at Eldoret Worldwide Airport in August 2022.

The open nationwide tender attracted six bidders, whose bids have been opened on September 14, 2022.

Bids included Built-in suppliers and consulting (Sh 135 million), Africa Engineering Suppliers Restricted (Sh 150 million) and Trojan Buying and selling Firm Restricted (Sh 147 million).

Others have been Magnate Ventures Restricted (Sh 89 million), Contralinks Options and Providers (Sh 152 million), and Burhani Engineers Restricted (Sh 60 million).

On the preliminary analysis stage of the tender, it was decided that 4 tenders, together with the Burhani Engineers tender, weren’t appropriate, and two tenders, together with the Contralinks Options and Providers tender, have been discovered to be eligible.

After technical and monetary issues, the tender committee in October 2022 beneficial that the contract be awarded Sh 152 million to Contract Connections Options and Providers.

Nevertheless, on October 25, 2022, Burhani Engineers filed a lawsuit at PPARB to problem the award of the contract to Contralinks Options and Providers Restricted.
